EFR is for everyoneThe Emergency First Response course can benefit everyone. We personally are amazed that these programs are not taught in schools. Yet they aren't so it's up to you to get educated in this important set of skills. In 1 day, you learn the skills that can help save lives. Doesn't that sound great? Well it is! EFR Primary & Secondary CareEmergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. The course focuses on both through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care if an emergency situation arises.EFR Care for ChildrenEFR also developed a program for children. This program is called Care for Children and handles the required skills and knowledge to perform CPR and First aid on children of various ages. |
AED and Oxygen deliveryBoth the Automatic External Defibrilator (AED) unit, as well as DAN oxygen unit can play a major role when it comes to buying patience time for the emergency team to arrive. We at the CDC think it is critical for everyone to know how to operate these. In the EFR course, they are optional, but, unless the candidate is unable, we always include these in our training.
