How to get here

Busses
There are several ways for you to reach the Caribbean Dive College. Probably the cheapest and easiest way to get here is public transportation. If you do not need to worry about your own dive gear, just step on the first bus that says "Philipsburg" or P'Burg on a small board behind the windscreen. They are typical little vans. Their license plate actually say "BUS" followed by a number. (for example BUS 38) If you are standing on the side of the road you can just wave them to stop and you can get on. The busses are cheap. If you are charged over $2.50, you are probably being scammed. You will have to get off the bus at the "Jump Up" casino. It will be on your left. (or ask the driver to warn you) Phoning us for a cost estimate is an option. Most of us have used public transportation on the island. Contact information you wil find by clicking here

Taxi
Your second option is taking a taxi. This is not cheap, but of course more comfortable. You can expect to pay between $10 and $30 for a trip, depending on where you are staying on the island. To give the taxi driver directions, just tell him to drive to Bobby's Marina in Philipsburg. Bobby's Marina has a Fuel Station in front of it. Just make the driver stop at that Fuel station. We're at the other side of the parking lot. You can't miss it. It needs to be said that it is always recommended to negotiate a price before you commit to the trip. Tipping the taxi driver is not necessary, but this is up to you. Bring change so you can pay without expecting change back.

Walking
If you are not staying far from the CDC, you might want to consider walking over to our place. a 20 minute walk can be very refreshing and you get a chance to see a bit more of the island than you can by car or any other vehicle. Walk the boardwalk and do some shopping in the tax free shops. All up to you. Check the media / links page for a map of the area.

Car rental
The third option: "Rent a car". If you are staying on the island for a week or longer, it can't hurt to look into renting a car. There are a couple of dependable businesses on the island that provide these services. Check our media/links page for car rental businesses with whom we have had good experiences.
Renting a car has the extra benefit of you having the oppertunity to visit the more remote parts, restaurants, shopping and beaches on our beautyful island.

CDC Pickup
We would recommend renting a car before our own pickup service. Of course if you want to spend money in our shop for diving, a dive course, retail or just join our diveteam's barbeques, we are willing to pick you up to do so. Nothing wrong with that either. The only "but" to this story is that we then need to ask you to be very flexible, while we can't possibly return that favor. We might be running a little late, but you can't be, because of our boat and staff scheduling. If you need a pickup, you will have to let us know a couple of days in advance and actually be waiting for us on the designated pickup place. However, if this is your preffered transportation, we will make it happen.
