PADI Enriched Air Nitrox
Are you continuesly limited by the time the RDP or your Dive computer allows you to stay underwater? Or are you maybe diving a good number of dives during your holiday and are you a little worried about your nitrogen absorbsion?Maybe you should consider diving with Enriched Air Nitrox from now on. For a little extra compensation, the Caribbean Dive College can put more oxygen in your tank to replace some of the nitrogen. This will then result in you absorbing less nitrogen during your dives, which can result in any of the following:
Of course all this would not be listed here in the PADI Course section of this websites if there weren't special procedures and considerations to be mastered before diving with Nitrox. |
Although diving with Nitrox is perfectly safe, there are some additional planning procedures to be handled. The increased amount of oxygen does limit the depth of your dives according to the amount of oxygen that is actually present. You will be taught on how to analyse your personal diving gas, how to plan your mix and mark your tank. You need to know about spcialised equipment, how to get your equipment compatible with high levels of oxygen, etcetera. The Nitrox classes can be taken in a few levels. You can get "certified" Enriched Air Diver, Level 1 and then dive Nitrox 32% instead of diving with air, but still plan your dives as if diving on air. (for the dive times) or you can spend a little longer in class and get fully certified, which gives you the oppertunity to then use all mixes between >21% all the way up to 40% Oxygen. It's all up to you.
