What is a PADI IDC Staff Instructor? As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you are certified to a level that alows you to assist a PADI Course Director with components of the PADI INstructor Development Course (PADI IDC). You may participate as a team member and present classroom presentations during the IDC. You may also assist with confined and open water presentations and you will be scoring AI, OWSI and IDC candidates next to your PADI Course Director, to give you the experience you need to become a PADI Master Instructor and ultimately a PADI Course Director. One might say a PADI Staff Instructor is the PADI Course Directors' "DiveMaster" Other PADI Benefits As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor you will also be certified to conduct portions of the PADI Specialty Instructor Courses as conducted by your PADI Course Director. Most likely, you will be the one in the water with the Specialty Instructor Candidate, taking her or him through the motions of the particular specialty. This is a lot of fun and very rewarding. Of course, it also means that when you become a specialty instructor trainer after becoming a PADI Course Director, you will have a lot of experience in these specialties. CDC Benefits At PADI Caribbean Dive College you will not be able to participate in teaching the PADI DiveMaster Course, before you get certified PADI IDC Staff Instructor. PADI DiveMasters need to be taught by experienced PADI Professionals who also understand the importance of continuing education for a dive operation and who can enthusiasticly talk about the Instructor Development Process. Structure of the course The first 2 days you will be refreshed on your presentation skills. We do classroom and in-water presentations for which you need to score a satisfactory score. Not only that, but you'll do another written test too. (this is kind of a more relaxed redo of your IE) After this self actualisation is complete, you will be trained to give IDC presentations, deliver feedback and score presentations. To complete your training, you will present all presentations of a PADI Assistant Instructor Course. Team teach some classes After certification as a PADI IDC Staff Instructor you will be able to teach PADI Assistant Instructor Courses as well as being a valuable assistant during PADI Specialty Instructor Courses . To get you going, you should consider sticking around and do some of that teaching. To team teach is the best way to cement what you have learned. Remember -> To apply is to master!
