National Geographic Open Water
The National Geographic Open Water diver course is not "just a diving course". Yes, it qualifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters / 60 feet, with a divebuddy of your choice, just like the PADI Open Water Diver Course. However, the PADI Nat Geo Open Water Course is much more than just that. Instead of 4 Open Water Dives, we will do 6. You'll get an interesting read with the National Geographic Diver almanac (manual) and the Nat Geo DVD. During the 2 additional dives, we will perfect your hovering skills a great deal further on the first dive and then proceed and really explore a divesite. We'll map it in detail and spend time to find underwater life you have not been able to discover during your Open Water diver Course alone. The second dive, we are going to increase your Navigation skills and then spend the rest of the dive identifying various marine species, including plants, vertebrate animals and invertebrate animals. You'll receive a great PADI/Nat Geo logbook binder with logbook pages, a Nat Geo DVD and manual AND the Open Water book, al of which are yours to keep. This is a great deal, with a lot of value....

National Geographic Portal SpecialtyFor you divers who are already certified as PADI Open Water Divers, there is the National Geographic (Portal) Specialty. We "simply" cover the same things as described in the National Geographic Open Water Diver Course. So you do the same two dives, do the mapping, the exploration dive, the hovering and navigation skills and the identification project. You'll love this specialty as you'll step out a completely different diver. You'll see more on all dives after. If you are looking for something truly special, Nat Geo is for you!
